PAIRE NO MATCH FOR FEDEX

Roger Federer has defeated Benoit Paire of France in the first round match in the Australian Open 2013. Federer won the match in the straight sets by 6-2, 6-4, 6-1.

Federer is much higher in ranking than Paire and he wasn’t expected to have too much of a problem against the 23 years old Frenchman. That’s what exactly happened. It was Federer who remained dominant right through the match and completely outsmarted Paire. The Swiss maestro took just 83 minutes to win the match.

Federer hadn’t taken part in any warm up tournament before the Australian Open. He didn’t have any match practice before coming into this tournament, but, it didn’t seem that he was playing a match after a few weeks. His shots were fluent and powerful.

Paire looked nervous in most parts of the match. He made a total of 27 unforced errors. He also served 8 double faults.

Paire got just one breakpoint in the entire match. On the other hand, Federer got 12 break points. Although, the Swiss superstar managed to convert only 6 of them but, that was enough to take him into the next round.

In the post match interview, Paire said, “Federer is a legend and when he is such kind of a nick, it’s very difficult to get better of him. Some of his shots were unbelievable.”

“When you play against such a player, the margin of error becomes very small. I made too many mistakes especially on my serve.”

“I knew that winning against Federer would be an uphill task. I was a bit nervous at the start and after losing the first set, I never really settled down.”
In his next match, Federer will play against the winner of the match between Nikolay Davydenko and Dudi Sela.
